Perth Waldorf Steiner Camp 2021

Perth Waldorf Steiner Camp 2021

Class 10 Camp: During the second last week of term, Class 10 spent a magical week connecting with the natural rhythms of the day and the beautiful landscape of the Murchison River. The camp was co-led by PWS and Rites Together with a focus on developing inner strength and a sense of place within the biodiversity rich landscape. Spending time with the whole class around the tree lined base camp and out in smaller satellite groups, we were able to wander the river banks, rocky outcrops and flower covered hills. Tuning into the direction of the sun and turning of the stars, we moved with the inspiration of sunrise, came together for camp fire cook ups in the evenings and rested in the shade during the heat of the day. The opportunity for quiet reflection at sunset, contemplative conversation around the fire each evening and time to gaze at the Emu and shooting stars while sleeping out, epitomises what this camp is about. The abundance and diversity of wildflowers, birds and animals were as diverse and unique as the students and staff that made up this group. Words cannot capture the awesomeness that was experienced during the week, so I would instead like to acknowledge this class for being themselves, for the amazing sunsets on the rock, upon the hill, beside the river and one of the most magical nights I can remember having around a camp fire…for everyone who was there, you know what I’m talking about!
